The desktop agent
This is the side that keeps the run record. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux — required for desktop and embedded work, optional for web and mobile.
What it does
Keeps the record
The environment fingerprint, the case timestamps and the digests of the files you attach are all written by the agent.
Talks to the device
Serial console, JTAG and USB access all go through it, which is why every embedded job runs with it.
Records the screen
It starts the recording when a case starts and cuts it when the case ends, so the video and the record share one timeline.
What it does not do
Its reach is bounded by the job. It writes nothing while closed and does not run in the background.
- It does not scan the file system
- It does not record windows outside the app under test
- It does not record keystrokes
- It does not update itself; you approve every version
Installing it
One file, no installer. You pair it with your account the first time you run it, and after that it is ready whenever you take a job. Removing it is deleting that one file — it leaves no service or scheduled task behind.
Required for embedded work
The best paid jobs in the queue run through the agent.
