Desktop testing
Windows, macOS and Linux software. A virtual machine is accepted, so one computer can cover all three operating systems.
What you run
The installer
Default install, custom directory, not enough disk, cancelling halfway. What is left behind after uninstalling is part of the case too.
Elevation
Administrator prompts, firewall questions, unsigned driver warnings. What the app says when the user refuses.
Updates
Automatic updates, skipping a version, closing mid-update. This is where most bugs turn up.
Files and printing
Import, export, very large files, corrupt files, print output and multi-monitor layout.
What you need
A virtual machine is accepted, which keeps the barrier low. The agent records whether it is a VM; trying to hide that invalidates the proof.
- Windows 10 or 11, macOS 14 or newer, or Ubuntu 22.04 or newer
- A VM is fine — it only has to appear as one in the record
- An account with administrator rights
- A physical or virtual printer for the print cases
