What you run
Boot and firmware
Cold boot, first boot after an update, an update interrupted halfway. Whether the device bricks shows up here.
Power loss
What happens when the supply is cut mid-transaction. Resume, data loss, or silent corruption.
Serial protocol
Command set compatibility, malformed commands, timeouts, baud changes. The console output is most of the proof.
Peripherals
Card read distance, thermal printer, keypad, display. Cases needing physical measurement are named on the job.
The hardware you need
In this type nothing is sent to testers who have not registered the device. Once you record the model and serial number, that model's work opens to you.
- The physical device — it is not supplied, you have to have it
- A serial console connection (USB-TTL, RS-232 or JTAG)
- An isolated supply, so power-loss cases can be cut in a controlled way
- An oscilloscope or multimeter on some jobs — always stated on the job

Tell us if you can reach a card reader, a meter or a control board — embedded testers are scarce and we review those applications first.
